The Cornock Family Visit to the Unit to Make Their Donation
Planning the Family Challenge
Family and friends joined forces last year to honour a well known character Gwilym Cornock from the Pembrokeshire farming community. At the time Gwilym needed the support of the local Cancer Day Unit so the family decided to undertake the Welsh Three Peaks challenge to raise funds for the hospital.
The group, comprised of twenty five supporters of all ages set about the challenge in May 2018. After conquering the Welsh 3 Peaks in one day, the group were delighted to be met by Gwilym and his family on completion of the Pen y Fan climb.
Sadly, Gwilym lost his battle with cancer later in the year but the fundraising in his name has resulted in an incredible figure of £16,110 being raised to support other patients.
An amazing achievement!
This is the biggest single donation we have had so a big thank you to everyone involved and your supporters.

Our thanks to each and every member of staff for their enthusiasm and to Vincent Davies customers for their generosity. Just brilliant!

Mary pictured above with Mike
Many people in the Pembrokeshire sports community will know of Mike Jenkins who has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Mike's wife Mary McDermott-Jenkins, together with her son Brad and friend Luke Hamilton (Scottish International Rugby Player) undertook the ultimate climbing challenge recently. They were successful in climbing all three of our highest mountain peaks (Ben Nevis,Scafell Pike & Snowdon) over a 24 hour period to raise money via our charity for the Withybush Cancer Day Unit. A fantastic £4,065 !
For Mary this was particularly challenging but through perseverence she achieved her aim in memory of husband Mike.
